The liberty bell is "the icon" of our fair city, and a symbol of freedom around the world. It is a national treasure that has been celebrated since the 18th century. And, it's broken. The famous crack in the bell doesn't matter to Philadelphians. We like it. It gives us character. In fact, it tells us when one of our Phillies hits a homer.
