hockey town 215

To the fly guys...lets get it done
Good luck to the Flyers (and the Sixers) during their playoff run. It would be nice to see a parade down Broad St. sometime this decade. Somebody start the Zamboni.

lots and lots of beer on the wall...lots and lots of beer

What's on tap?
Monks, near Rittenhouse Square, is another Philadelphia institution. This Belgium Cafe offers many different types beer (we are talking hundreds) from just about any country you can think of. They call their menu the Beer Bible...and that perfectly sums it up. Certainly one of my favorite Philly places. Also, stay for the mussels and the burgers that some say are the best in the city.

It's 2am...do you know where your pizza is?

Late night sustenance
Ahhhh drunken pizza at Lorenzo's on South Street...good times.

I love the tops of the store fronts on South Street.

choosing the chief

Today is not an ordinary Tuesday
Whether you are voting for the "O" or the "Hill", this state and this city will play a big part in the final outcome of the presidential race. Even if you go the way of the GOP, we should all wake up and be proud that the country is looking to us for guidance.

Thus it was fitting that I post a image from my other favorite square, where the first candidate who was "ready from day 1" and was "fired up, and ready to go" stands in honor. Get out and vote PA!

strolling south st

Heading south
One more post today to show one of my favorite images. You will find these guys over the I-95 Bridge that leads to South Street. I've always wondered why they were never shot by many others. This image feels very Pink Floyd to me... "Tear down the wall!"

hall of fame

Indy Hall
Lots of people at the hall on Friday, and this building was the focal point. It's our city's national treasure. Anybody watching John Adams on HBO? Nice to have a reminder how great this building really is and its place in history.

Tuesday could be a big day for this country.
Make sure you get out and vote...for somebody!

billy penn on top of the hall

Cue the Law and Order sound
I feel this shot deserves to be on the opening credits of cold case or some detective show. City Hall used to be the largest building in the city for many moons until One Liberty Place took that honor in the late 1980s.

Home sweet home
This SW gate to the park is one of my favorite places on earth.
