dragon tales...

Super Mario
Above is a pic of Mario the Magnificent, the official dragon mascot of the DU. Drexel University is a school in progress, even though it's been around since 1891. I swear they have a new building going up every year. But their number one building, "Main Building" doesn't need the support...it rocks. Of all the local schools, you have to think Drexel has that "Philly cool" feel to it. I won't lie. I work at the university, so I'm a little biased. But seriously...Drexel and West Philly do it right.

Learn more about the city school
here....or talk to them now on twitter here... or visit their Facebook page here. Speaking of dragons, check out this one starting a sing a long. Mario can keep a tune.

broad strokes of history...

Time out
Something about walking down Broad Street just feels... timeless. You can sense the history.
City Hall, of course, always dominates the scenery. She's a looker!

phlash...ahhhhh...saviour of the tourist...

Like I said...I want to be a tour guide
Philadelphia is one of the greatest walkable cities in the country. You'll get to most of Philly's attractions on foot, and with a good cup of coffee, you'll be just fine. But sometimes, your itinerary will expect you to be there, and you are...who knows where....so what to do? I suggest getting on the Phlash. No, not this guy. And not this guy either. Philly's get on/get off bus, the Philly Phlash stops at over 21
locations throughout Center City including the Independence Visitor Center, Penn's Landing and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Only $2 to board....much cheaper than a cab. And what the hell...it's a little purple bus that Barney would be proud of.

Here is
the info you need on the little purple bus and...a little traveling music here...happy site seeing.
