oldie, but a goodie...

old city charm
Man I love the buildings in old city. Especially on north 3rd street. It doesn't get much cooler than this. Someday I'll buy one of these places. For now, I'll just keep taking pictures. Old city is pretty much Philly's soho...but better, it's Philly cool.

philly style piazza...

piazza party
Take a stroll down 2nd street in Northern Liberties and you'll end up at the latest "place to be" in the city... the Piazza at Schmidts. The Piazza is an 80,000 square-foot, open-air plaza with free events year-round. It is filled with artists' studios, cool boutiques and four bars/restaurants. The space is inspired by the famous meeting areas in Italy and is just an awesome and unique place to hang. Yes, that IS a giant tv screen showing the WFC's right on the wall. This guy likes to play around here as well.

I guess if you like it a lot, you can live here with 3 condo buildings surrounding the whole thing. Get all the info you need at www.atthepiazza.com or check out this little video.

Pretty cool.

maybe, on the road to vick-tory...

the wind beneath my wings..
Well, despite what you think about this guy being a part of the birds, you have to be happy that today the Eagles won their first game of the season in convincing manner. On the other hand, we saw McNabb go down. Will he be back next week? Will we see a certain #7 take a snap or two soon? Time will tell.

Next week... it starts at our house as pictured above. Get ready for the parking lot. Stay classy Philly!

Still...I so miss this guy.

like sands through the hourglass...

so are the championship days of our lives

Phillies pride has no boundaries. See this amazing sand sculpture in Franklin Square Park, right by Ben's big blue bridge. It's a great place for kids (note the ferris wheel), or to pay homage to the team that broke the curse.

Let's go fightens!!!!!!

running down a dream...

or, see how they run
I'm back from vacation and thinking about summer in the greatest place in the world, Rittenhouse Square. My son Ethan is not quite ready to run (or walk for that matter), but taking a look at these two in the park, a good pair of running shoes might be in my future. Get outside while the weather is fine.

It's all just hot fun in the summertime.

it's not easy being green...

save a tree
That's what the Comcast Center does. It is the tallest building in PA and the tallest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building in the United States. In short...it goes green. It's not easy... but it's necessary.

me encanta, amada...

tap, tap, tapas-aroo
Amada is the crown jewel of local, but globally known chef Jose Garces. This beautiful tapas restaurant is an amazing experience. If you go, I suggest the chef's tasting menu. It's not dinner... it's a night out. Amada is the kind of resturant you'd expect in NYC or LA. Well, next time you are in Old City, grab a glass of sangria and go loco!

Get a closer look here.

got the blues...

let's not talk about health care reform
Let's just talk about how cool this, sometimes overlooked, building really is. Living in the shadow of the Mellon Building, One Liberty Place, and now the Comcast Center.... The Blue Cross Building (or really the G. Fred DiBona, Jr. Building) is one of Center City's most impressive skyscrapers. Like Comcast, it finds a way to blend nicely on a summer blue sky.

Whatever this guy may do to fix or break health care, be assured that this will always be a building that this guy (a long time spokesman) can be proud of.
